Description

Tamarindus indica
An extract of the tamarind fruit (a long pod), with the seeds and fibres removed leaving creating a paste that is both acidic yet very sweet. Essential for making chutney, sweet-n-sour sauces and for West Indian, Indian and Réunion Island cooking. It is also used as a natural laxative. Keeps for a long time in the refrigerator.
