Rhus coriaria
A beautiful red powder with a floral and acidic taste comes from middle east cookery. Used to make sweet-n-sour sauces and for seasoning mutton. It adds an acid note to salads and Lebanese pizzas.
Very tasty on chicken, white meats and fishes, it is also a must with fruits salads and red fruits desserts.
It must be kept dry.
Important! Never pick sumac seeds from the garden or in the wild. The sumac for human consumption is produced by a specific species which does not grow in our climate.
