Vanilla planifolia
An ethical and fair vanilla !
Cœur de Forêt association (https://www.coeurdeforet.com/) has worked in Indonesia on the island of Flores as part of a biodiversity conservation and restoration project and has formed a cooperative of producers to an ethical and sustainable vanilla cultivation. It is in partnership with them that we offer this high quality planifolia vanilla (same variety as Bourbon vanilla).
Specifications commits producers to:
- 100% natural cultivation on agroforestry plots (not deforestation, not intensive) that promote biodiversity
- a harvest at least 8 months of maturity required
- a quality drying in several steps according to the method of processing Bourbon vanilla
Vanilla is bought at a price above the market price, which allows producers to receive about 30% more remuneration and stabilises the sector.
