It is traditional in Reunion and the West Indies to flavour agricultural rum with aromatic leaves and barks: it's the "Rhum arrangé" whose composition varies according to the place, the plants available and the mood of the moment!
This homemade blend colours the rum with a beautiful red and awakens the taste buds. Its components with woody aromas offer a tasty and warm rum with a powerful taste. The smoky and spicy notes, with a slight bitterness, sublimate the alcohol fire but soften it thanks to the roundness of their flavor.
The mixture should be left to macerate in white agricultural rum at 40° for 3 weeks, filter after that if you do not want to accentuate the spiciness of the drink. Serve with cane sugar and crushed ice. Drink as a spicy aperitif to wake up the body and whet your appetite!
